AN INDONESIAN JAZZ DRUMMER MADE A SOLO DEBUT IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM WITH A SPECIAL SUNDANESE CULTURE DRUMS PERFORMANCES

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (December 23rd, 2018). In his first series of ‘Asia Tour’, Alman has visited the capital of Brunei Darussalam to promote Indonesia’s culture, and his upcoming debut solo album. Carrying the style of contemporary jazz, this man has shown his ability of drums soloing with a touch of traditional sundanese melodies from an instrument called ‘Saron’ that played simultaneously with modern rhythms.

By playing a various modern rhythms on the drums and a traditional melodies on saron, Alman has successfully harmonised the swing, jazz and afro-cuban rhythms with the sundanese traditional pelog melodies.  This combination of modern and traditional
instruments and tradition giving a great result of an attractive contemporary ethnic music.
